About Us

We invent, manufacture and install hydraulic tarp systems. You just press the button and your cargo is covered in 30 seconds.

We constantly improve and develop our roll tarps to

  • Make life easier and safer for your chauffeurs

  • Decrease sick leave and increase earnings

  • Follow all EU regulations

  • Live up to our own quality standards

  • Get your vehicles better mileage and save CO2 emission.

We are a family owned business and we bend over backwards to accommodate you. Jakob Usen Jensen is the company catalyst – he is equal parts inventor and skilled chassis mechanic. Our best innovations are patented. Because they are what set an Ecotop apart from all other hydraulic roll tarps.

Why we call it Ecotop
An Ecotop hydraulic tarp system is eco-friendly and eco-nomical. As our wind tunnel testing showed: a single trailer covered with an Ecotop roll tarp can save 10-15 tonnes in CO2 emissions yearly.

6 successes and 1 setback in Ecotop history

2018: Sales record
Most units sold in company history

2014: Setback
EU legislation dictated new length and with regulations, and it forced us to re-design all roll tarps. Now our rolling pipe sticks out only 5 centimetres of the side of the trailer, when it is closed.

2013: New patent
Patent approved on lifting system for tip trailers. The new system lifts the roll tarp free off the rear door – allowing you as much clearance as without a roll tarp.

2012: Awarded 1 million DKK by the Danish Transport Authority
For energy efficient transports. We spent the entire amount on tests and product development. Test results showed significant reduction in both diesel consumption and CO2 emission, compared to driving without an Ecotop.

2011: First patent
Patent approved on ”The tightener” – The rubber band that automatically tightens during transport, when motion compress your cargo.

1999: First Ecotop ready for use
Our very first Ecotop hydraulic trap system was fitted on a client’s trailer. He actually asked us to invent one for him – and so we did.

1996: The company stays in the family
Jakob bought the business from his uncle.
